Home of the Lancaster Barnstormers since 2005, the ballpark features a natural grass and dirt playing field. Clipper Magazine has won "Best of the Ballparks" by Ballpark Digest for 2020 and 2021. It is a 6,000 seat stadium measuring 320 Left Field, 409 Left Center, 400 Center Field, 363 Right Center and 300 Right Field.
When Clipper Magazine Stadium is not available for practices, we utilize fields in the Mount Joy and Elizabethtown areas.
Troy's baseball resume is extensive. The native of Lancaster County has served the game he loves as a scout for three different Major League organizations (Houston, Toronto and Tampa Bay) and with USA Baseball as a scout and coach. Steffy has certifications in arm care and sports biomechanics among other fields and has trained athletes at the college and professional levels. At one point, he even served as a player agent. For six years, Steffy filled a role as the director of sports performance at Parisi Speed School in the Universal Athletic Club on Oregon Pike. From there, he served as the director of baseball operations at Spooky Nook Sports for another six years. It was there that he developed a friendship with Ross Peeples and the opportunity to coach first base for the Barnstormers on a full-time basis. That led to the job becoming permanent for the 2019 season. Not only does Steffy coach during home games, he works with management on overseeing the operations of the clubhouse and field. In addition, Steffy coordinates all youth baseball programs, including camps, at Clipper Magazine Stadium and is the president of the Jr. Barnstormers travel baseball program.
Joe Russo played collegiately at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Coach Russo brings more than 25 years of coaching experience, including 5 years a the High School Level in Broward County, Florida and 11 years of Travel/Tournament Baseball here in Pennsylvania.
Our son has played for numerous travel and community teams for 10+ years and the players on this team are the most grounded, team-oriented and positive teammates he's played with. There is certainly a plethora of talent among these boys, but not one of them is in it for the personal accolades. We highly recommend this team for players who are looking for fundamentally-sound coaching, a true team atmosphere & most importantly a fun & postitive experience.
Playing with the Lancaster Jr. Barnstormers has prepared me to take the next step and play at the college level. Not only have the coaches been great role models, but I have made life long friends. This organization has played a huge role in helping me fulfill my dream of playing college baseball.
Our son has played with this group of teammates for the past 3 years, after playing with other organizations in the past. He loves playing with this group and for the multitude of talented and knowledgeable coaches that have contributed over the years. He enjoys going to practice because he knows it will be both instructive and fun. We have seen significant improvement in both his offense and his defense, and he always expects to be challenged and learn something news. We couldn't be happier!
Our players mean the world to us! Do you have questions or comments about their training? Send us a message, and we'll get back to you soon.
